The Topsfield Police Department is proud to announce our partnership with NIXLE Corporation for community notifications. NIXLE Corporation’s vast secure community notification system will allow citizens to join the public network and receive community alerts and advisories direct to their mobile phone or computer through text messaging or email at no cost to the Town or subscriber. This is an improvement over the department’s present distribution process for our very popular Citizen Information Alerts. It will allow alerts or advisories to be sent from the scene of any incident in real time without delays, keeping the public informed while allowing citizens to sign up for notifications from area participating agencies as well. The Topsfield Police Department is a proactive, community responsive organization that strives to maintain a professional, dedicated and caring approach when dealing with the community it serves.

The department consists of (10) Regular Officers, (14) Reserve Officers, (8) Auxiliary Officers, (10) Communication Personnel and (1) Officer Manager.

In addition to our regular cruiser patrols the department operates a Motorcycle, Bicycle and Truck Enforcement unit. We participate in the DARE program for all sixth grade elementary students and offer Rape Aggression Defense training for our citizens. Our department is the answer point for all 911 emergencies within the Town of Topsfield including Fire and Emergency Medical Services.
